(WFRV) – Hunters looking to participate in the 2025 fall elk hunting season need to act fast, as the deadline to apply for a chance at a license is fast approaching.
Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources say only a select number of hunters are chosen at random for an elk hunting license each year.

Those interested must apply for the license either online or at a license agent by the end of Saturday, May 31.
Those who get randomly selected as winners for this year’s elk hunting season licenses will need to participate in an elk hunter education course before being given the license.
Winners will be notified sometime in June.
