Period poverty is defined as a woman’s lack of access to menstrual products, hygiene and other things surrounding women’s health. According to a release, 40% of individuals struggle to afford period products, a major cause of girls’ school absenteeism.
The event on Tuesday morning was a combined effort between the non-profit and the Greater Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions, who helped pack period products to combat the period poverty issue.
