CUMBERLAND, Wis. (WFRV) – A man was arrested following a traffic stop for speeding in western Wisconsin after officers and a K9 found over one pound of meth in his vehicle.
Officers with the Cumberland Police Department say that officers got information from a ‘reliable source’ that a vehicle that had been stopped for speeding in Cumberland on May 28 may have contained a ‘sizeable amount’ of controlled substances.
A K9 was called to the scene and gave a positive alert on the vehicle. Officers also stated that they could reportedly smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

This shift was only K9 Kilo and Canine Handler Officer Brunner’s third duty shift since graduating from K9 training on May 22. Kilo has already had two successful narcotics deployments, resulting in two arrests for methamphetamine within those three duty shifts. Great job to the Cumberland Officers and Kilo! Also thank you to the Barron County Sheriff’s Office for assisting with this incident.
