BARRON COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin man was taken into custody on Tuesday after leading authorities on a pursuit and traveling through a field before getting stuck in the mud.
According to the Barron County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on County Road M near U.S. Highway 8 for traffic and registration infractions.

The vehicle allegedly continued north on County Road M in Barron County, reaching speeds of around 70 miles per hour. The suspect proceeded through the county and pulled into an address in Rusk County.
At this point, a deputy from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office attempted a PIT maneuver, but it was unsuccessful.
The suspect then drove into a field, where the vehicle became stuck in the mud.
Deputies arrested the driver, identified as Jess Blake from Shell Lake. He is being held at the Barron County Jail and is awaiting formal charges.
