GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 34-year-old Green Bay man accused of making terroristic threats against Bellin Health over concerns about his care has been found guilty but not guilty by reason of mental disease on two felony charges.
Court records show Anthony Novello was found guilty but not guilty due to mental disease for making terrorist threats and for bodily harm or threat to an employee of a health care facility or their family.

The charges stem from an incident on July 10, 2023, at Bellin Health in Ashwaubenon, where Novello allegedly threatened to slap or possibly kill people if he was not cared for properly.
According to the criminal complaint, an employee told investigators that Novello called and was “extremely upset” about his care earlier that morning. Novello said he missed his 8:15 a.m. appointment because he took a cigarette break and was then told he would not be seen by his provider but was later seen at urgent care.
The complaint states Novello claimed he was given a gas card as an apology but felt staff tried to bribe him. He allegedly demanded more medication, a ride to the clinic and $100.
During the call, Novello reportedly asked what would happen if he returned the next day and someone made him angry. He allegedly said he would smack people and remarked that “this was why shootings happen every day.” He also allegedly stated, “Who’s to say I don’t shoot up the place.”

The employee said they were fearful Novello might follow through on his threats.
With the court’s finding, Novello’s criminal case has concluded.
