GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin man accused in a 2024 stabbing in Green Bay is set for his jury trial over the next couple of days.
Court records show Jaharrie Jelks was in custody while in court via Zoom with his attorney. The present bond was continued during the final pre-trial hearing, which took place on October 24.
A motion hearing also occurred on Monday, October 27, in which the case was ruled unresolved, and the present bond continued.
Jelks is now set for the two-day jury trial on Wednesday and Thursday, both scheduled for 8:30 a.m.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin man accused in a 2024 stabbing in Green Bay is set for a quick trial after requesting one in a Tuesday afternoon court hearing.
Court records show Jaharrie Jelks was in custody while in court via Zoom with his attorney as he pleaded not guilty to all charges. The defense also requested a speedy trial.
The present bond was continued as a final pre-trial hearing was set for 3 p.m. on October 24, with a two-day jury trial scheduled for October 29 and 30 at 8:30 a.m.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 31-year-old Wisconsin man accused in a 2024 stabbing in Green Bay is set to be arraigned this fall.
Court records show Jaharrie Jelks appeared in Brown County court on Tuesday, where a judge scheduled his arraignment for Sept. 2, 2025, at 2 p.m.
Jelks faces multiple felony charges, including attempted first-degree intentional homicide, in connection to a stabbing on Dec. 8, 2024.

Prosecutors quickly refile attempted homicide charge against man accused of December stabbing in Green Bay
TUESDAY, JULY 15, 2025, 3:20 P.M.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Shortly after the case was dismissed without prejudice, charges were quickly refiled against a 31-year-old Greenfield man accused of stabbing a man in December 2024.
Court records show the initial case was dismissed against Jaharrie Jelks on Monday, despite the defense’s objections, and then charges were rapidly refiled. The new court case is listed here.
Jelks is charged with the following, with punishments listed should he be convicted:
- Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide – Repeater, Use of a Dangerous Weapon
- Class B Felony – Up to 60 years in prison
- False Imprisonment – Repeater, Use of a Dangerous Weapon
- Class H Felony – Up to six years in prison and/or $10,000 fine
- Disorderly Conduct – Repeater, Use of a Dangerous Weapon
- Class B Misdemeanor – Up to 90 days in prison and/or $1,000 fine
- Bail Jumping – Repeater
- Class A Misdemeanor – Up to nine months in prison and/or $10,000 fine
- Driving or Operating a Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent – Repeater
- Class I Felony – Up to 3.5 years in prison and/or $10,000 fine
The repeater modifiers add the potential for up to two years in prison per charge, if convicted, while the dangerous weapon charge could increase a prison sentence by up to five years on the first and second charges.
In a criminal complaint acquired by Local 5, a Green Bay Police Officer said they were called to a weapons report in the 1400 block of Western Avenue shortly after midnight on December 8, 2024.
The call reported that a man came to the complainant’s door and reported that he had been stabbed. The 56-year-old victim had blood stains on his shirt, telling officers that the person who stabbed him was a person known as ‘Mane,’ later identified as Jelks.
Jelks was arrested on December 15 in Milwaukee after officers located a stolen vehicle involved in the case. The criminal complaint alleges that Jelks was in Green Bay on December 7, when the victim last saw him.
Arkansas man charged with abducting pregnant Wisconsin teenager pleads not guilty
Jelks’ cash bond was set at $100,000 while in court on Tuesday. He is set for an additional hearing on July 25.
