Dua Lipa paid tribute to “a real New York icon” by covering Blondie’s “One Way or Another” at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night (September 18) during her Radical Optimism Tour. That cover followed up her hometown tribute to New York City during the first show of her four-night stand at MSG on Wednesday (September 17), where the three-time Grammy winner honored another NYC legend, Alicia Keys, by covering her Grammy-winning Billboard No. 1 hit, “No One.” Lipa upped the ante during her Saturday night show at MSG by bringing out Nile Rodgers to perform Chic’s “Le Freak,” the legendary New York funk band’s chart-topping 1978 disco classic. These tributes join the other iconic covers Lipa has performed on her international tour, which also includes honoring the likes of Aerosmith, AC/DC, Lorde, the Beatles, and Sinead O’Connor by performing their hits in their hometowns.
