SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. (WFRV) – Local community members in Sheboygan Falls gathered to help celebrate the life of Giovanni ‘Mike’ Robinson, a Canadian man who was shot and killed last week.
Robinson was in Wisconsin for a golf trip, but the community felt shocked that something like this would happen in their neck of the woods.
The memorial was planned on short notice, with the hopes that the Robinson family would know that people cared for someone who had ties to a different country.
“We figured it would be a good place to come and be able to mourn Mike and grieve along with the family,” one organizer said. “The support in Sheboygan, Sheboygan County and in Sheboygan Falls has just been overwhelming, and bigger than ever.”
Numerous individuals showed up, watching the funeral take place in Canada. One attendee said she was moved by the memorial, yet startled that someone would do this to anyone.
“I couldn’t even wrap my head around the whole thing, but it was really nice that you did this,” Jodie Parra of Sheboygan Falls said. “I think that the family will appreciate the love and support they have from Falls.”
A message of solidarity from the community and the Robinson family, to know they are always welcome in the community with open arms, and always will have them in their thoughts.
The Sheboygan Scanner PM team played a big role in bringing this memorial together, and having a connection from Sheboygan to the Robinson family.
