GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Green Bay man accused of attempted homicide just days after getting out of prison was in court while in custody for a hearing on April 7.
Court records show that 37-year-old James Ferguson and his attorney waived the rights to a preliminary hearing, which was accepted as he was bound over. The present bond was continued.
Ferguson’s arraignment hearing is scheduled for May 5 at 8:30 a.m.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Green Bay man accused of attempted homicide just days after he was released from prison appeared in court on Friday while in custody.
Court records show that 37-year-old James Ferguson and his attorney appeared for a competency hearing, which went uncontested by both the defense and the prosecution.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on April 7.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Green Bay man accused of attempted homicide just days after he was released from prison was in court for a competency hearing on February 10.
Court records show that 37-year-old James Ferguson was in custody while appearing by video with an attorney present. His present bond was continued.
A follow-up competency hearing was scheduled for March 10 at 1 p.m.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Green Bay man accused of attempted homicide just days after he was released from prison was in court for a status conference on December 18.
Court records show that 37-year-old James Ferguson was in custody while in court with his attorney present. The $500,000 cash bond continued, as he waived his time limits for a preliminary hearing.
His next court date is a preliminary hearing at 10:30 a.m. on February 6.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Green Bay man accused of attempted homicide just days after he was released from prison was in court for an initial hearing on November 12.
Court records show that 37-year-old James Ferguson was in custody while in court, along with an attorney. Ferguson’s cash bond was set at $500,000 during the initial appearance.

Green Bay man charged with attempted homicide four days after getting released from prison
November 11, 2025 – 5:19 p.m.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Green Bay man is facing multiple charges after an alleged attack on a victim, just four days after getting released from prison.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by Local 5, 37-year-old James Ferguson faces seven charges related to an incident in early November.

On November 1, around 10 p.m., officers were sent to the 300 block of South Washington Street for a reported disturbance. It was mentioned that someone called 9-1-1, saying Ferguson was beating them up.
Officers got to the scene and reportedly saw Ferguson kick the victim in the face. Ferguson was eventually controlled and taken into custody.
He allegedly swore at the officers and made threatening statements. Ferguson later claimed that he was acting in self-defense.
Authorities reviewing the security footage said it showed Ferguson attacking the victim multiple times, according to the complaint. At one point in the video, Ferguson is reportedly heard telling the victim he would kill them.
The victim talked to officers, who said they knew Ferguson and that he had just gotten out of prison on October 28. They claimed that Ferguson showed up at their residence and was contacting them nonstop.
