GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 54-year-old Green Bay man accused of stalking a 17-year-old girl by allegedly leaving behind notes on her car was in court while in custody on Friday morning.
Court records show Dennis Johnson appeared without an attorney again as he still seeks a new one after his previous lawyer withdrew from the case in July 2025. The state also requested that they question the doctor’s findings from a competency report.
A new competency hearing was scheduled for April 6 at 1:30 p.m.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The 53-year-old Green Bay man charged with multiple felonies for allegedly stalking a 17-year-old girl was in court on Wednesday for a status conference.
Court records show that Dennis Johnson was in court while in custody at the Wisconsin Resource Center, with his attorney, Brianna Zawada, in court on his behalf.
While the present bond continued, Johnson wished to find new representation, as his attorney withdrew from the case.
An additional status conference has been set for 2 p.m. on September 17.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) — A 53-year-old Green Bay man facing multiple felonies related to allegedly stalking a 17-year-old girl appeared in court for a status conference on Friday.
Court records show that Dennis Johnson has another status conference scheduled for May 9 at 8:30 a.m.
Johnson faces one count of stalking a victim under the age of 18, two counts of exposing a child to harmful material, and two misdemeanor drug charges.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The 52-year-old Green Bay man who has been charged with stalking a 17-year-old girl and allegedly leaving notes on her car, had a status conference recently.
According to court records, Dennis Johnson appeared in custody via Zoom for a status conference on December 27 and had his present bond of $100,000 continued.
Johnson is facing multiple charges in relation to the alleged stalking of a 17-year-old girl, including two felony charges of Expose Child to Harmful Material.
An additional status conference has been scheduled for March 7, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A man from Green Bay had his cash bond set at $100,000 after being charged with stalking a 17-year-old girl and leaving sexual notes on her car.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by Local 5, 52-year-old Dennis Johnson is facing multiple charges in relation to the alleged stalking of a 17-year-old girl. On October 26, an officer with the Green Bay Police Department was sent to a residence for a reported incident that was sexual in nature.
The complaint says that a 17-year-old girl received a letter from a stranger that was on her car. The letter was reportedly sexual in nature and was accompanied by a sexual book. The letter addressed the victim as ‘Cheesehead’.

The victim and witnesses said that no one they know calls her ‘Cheesehead’.
On November 10, an officer was sent to the same residence for another report of a stalking incident. A plastic bag was found on the hood of the victim’s car.
Security cameras were set up after the initial incident and authorities reviewed the footage. A middle-aged man was seen placing the bag on the car around 2:20 a.m.
The bag contained another book that was deemed sexual in nature and a handwritten note of the same genre. The note also reportedly asked for a loan of $6,000-$10,000.
Authorities later did a search through Wisconsin’s Sex Offender Registry and found Dennis Johnson who matched the description of the person seen on the footage. The complaint says that in 1994, Johnson was in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old when he was 22 years old.
An officer contacted Johnson and searched his residence. A metallic pipe that was believed to be consistent with a pipe used for drug use.
Johnson reportedly told authorities that he saw the victim mowing the law about two or three years ago. The complaint says that he was sexually attracted to her and thought she was 18 years old.
He admitted to leaving the notes and books so the victim could write her own book. The complaint says that Johnson said he asked for money because he was about to run out of it and be kicked out of his residence.

In the complaint, it mentions that the family of the victim has been living in fear since the first incident.
Johnson is charged with:

- Up to six years in prison (Can be increased by four years due to being a repeater)

Court records show that Johnson was in court on November 15 for his initial appearance. He had his cash bond set at $100,000. He is due back in court on December 27 for a status conference.
