GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – With an expected high in the negatives on Friday, a popular pizza place in Green Bay announced that it will not be open due to the dangerous cold weather.
Jake’s Pizza announced via Facebook on Wednesday that the dangerously cold temperatures on Friday, January 23, will prevent the restaurant from opening that day due to safety concerns for its staff and customers.

“Due to the upcoming dangerous cold weather on Friday, January 23, we are closing for the safety of our staff and customers,” the post reads. “Stay warm out there!”
Jake’s Pizza has a history of looking out for its staff and customers during extreme weather, including back in June 2025 when it closed for an expected heatwave.
The closure is only expected for Friday. If it goes longer, Local 5 will provide a story with updated information.
