EAST TROY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin police officer got a special shoutout from his department after he and a towing service helped a mother and her children in need.

The East Troy Police Department says that Officer Bullock was sent to a Kwik Trip for a report of a vehicle in a ditch nearby, and learned that a mother with her young children visiting from out of state was the involved party.
The mother’s car didn’t have working heat, so she took her kids to the Kwik Trip to warm up before the car slid off the road, and unfortunately, she couldn’t pay for a tow truck.

But that’s where Officer Bullock came in, as he offered to personally pay for a tow service to remove the vehicle from the ditch. Mark Rhode of Rhode’s Towing Repair and Sales arrived and heard the story, declining payment, offering to do it for free.
“We can’t think of a better example of a small town community effort working together for someone in need,” the post said. “Thank you to the bystander who saw this kind act and felt the world needed to hear your story.”
