(WFRV) – A case of measles was confirmed at UW-Madison; the student is recovering.
According to the University Health Services at UW-Madison, it was confirmed that a student has measles. The student does reportedly live in an off-campus apartment.

The release says the student is recovering after getting medical care; others on campus could have been exposed to the virus.
Officials say measles is highly contagious and spreads through respiratory droplets and can remain in the air or on surfaces for up to two hours.
The symptoms are typically the following:
- High fever (may spike to over 104 degrees fahrenheit)
- Cough
- Runny nose
- Red, watery eyes
Officials are working together to let people know who may have been present in spots where the infected student visited.
