CEDARBURG, Wis. (WFRV) – One person was pronounced dead at the scene of a head-on crash in southeastern Wisconsin involving a pickup truck and a school bus on Thursday afternoon.
Deputies with the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office say that they responded to a two-vehicle crash on CTH I, north of Cedar Creek Road in Cedarburg, just before 1:20 p.m. on February 5.
It was noted that based on witness statements and the initial investigation, deputies determined that a pickup truck, driven by a 57-year-old man from West Bend, allegedly crossed the centerline on CTH I when it crashed head-on with a northbound school bus.

Deputies stated that no students were on the bus at the time of the crash and that the driver, a 71-year-old from Saukville, only suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the pickup truck was pinned inside the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both lanes of CTH I are still closed while a crash reconstruction is being conducted.
