(WFRV) – A Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin is providing some clarity on the recent presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
According to the Barron County Sheriff’s Office, some headlines making the rounds are said to be “a little misleading” regarding a recent ICE presence leading to administrative staff with the Sheriff’s Office being swamped by a flurry of calls and messages.
Deputies state that officials with ICE were in Baron County on Sunday for a few hours looking for two specific people.

It was determined that one of the two individuals had moved out of the area and the second individual was not found. Due to what officials say is “the security of enforcement operations,” the names of the individuals sought out by ICE cannot be released.
Barron County deputies state that if ICE comes to Barron County and requests assistance from the Sheriff’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office “will support our law enforcement partners.” They add that unlawful obstruction and interference with any operations will not be tolerated.
The Barron Count Sheriff’s Department encourages everyone to read past the headlines and question what they see or hear in the news, and especially on social media, as it relates to ICE operations. Do your own research and visit the Immigration and Customs Enforcement website to see what their operations entail and who they are apprehending.
