FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – The Fond du Lac Police Department is searching to find an unidentified man who a family says unlawfully entered their home early Tuesday morning.

According to a release, officers responded at 2:05 a.m. to a home on the 1600 block of Primrose Lane after residents of the home reported an unknown man in their living room.
Police say the caller indicated that the man had entered the home through an unlocked patio door and may have been wearing a hoodie and a face covering. Members of the family verbally confronted the unidentified man, who fled from the home before the arrival of police.

Officers were said to immediately establish a perimeter in the area, with a drone being deployed for aerial support and a K9 team being utilized to help track the area. Despite what officials say was an “extensive search,” the suspect was not located.
“This type of incident can feel unsettling, especially when it happens in the place where you should feel the safest, your home. I want our residents to know that we take this very seriously. An unlawful entry into an occupied residence is something we respond to with urgency and care. We also understand the concern this may cause, and we are here for our community. Sheriff Goldstein adds that an investigation into the incident remains ongoing, with officers and detectives conducting neighborhood canvases and reviewing surveillance and doorbell camera footage that could assist in identifying the suspect.
