The man, whose name was not provided, was cooperative with authorities and issued an ordinance summons in the amount of $389.50 for vandalizing the Kaukauna-based Center for Suicide Awareness’s sculpture.
The sculpture had depicted two hands forming a heart, and it was designed by Krystal Kleer Ice Sculptures, who attempted to fix it, but said it likely won’t be done in time to return to the Avenue of Ice this year.
The ice sculpture cost about $425 for production, according to the Appleton Police Department.
The Center for Suicide Awareness also provided an update, stating that the suspect wrote a personal letter to the Executive Director asking for forgiveness.
