(WFRV) – As warmer weather begins to make an appearance in the area, officials in Marinette County say its motorized recreational trail system will be closing.
According to a release from the Marinette County Forestry Department, the recreation trail system will be closed to all motorized vehicles starting at 12:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, and lasting until further notice.
Settlement reached in sexual harassment lawsuit against Green Bay landlord
The closure comes as officials say it is needed to protect the trail beds from potential damage that can be caused by motorized vehicles during spring break up.
The trails will be opened up again to recreational motorized vehicles once the conditions of the trails can support motorized traffic without taking any damage.
Updates on trail conditions can be found on the Marinette County website.
