The Latest from Storm Team 5…
Skies will stay fairly clear tonight besides a few passing clouds from time to time. Lows will be on the colder side of average, falling into the teens and low to mid 20s. Watch out for refreezing of untreated surfaces.
Tomorrow will start with sunshine with clouds arriving closer to sunset. High temperatures will be around our seasonal average in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
Our next system is not too far away, as snow showers will move in during the evening and continue overnight. As a southeast wind ramps up, gusting 30-45mph overnight Thursday, that will push the rain and snow line to about HWY 29 and likely into Door county as well.
As winds turn back around to the north & northwest Friday morning, still gusting 30-45 mph, that will turn us back over to snow showers Friday. Snow will come to an end Friday afternoon.
Best chance for snowfall accumulations will be north and west of Appleton where 1-3″ of snow looks liekly, with higher amounts in the 3-5″ range north of HWY 29.

A WINTER STORM WATCH has already been issued for Langlade, northern Oconto, Marinette and Menominee (MI) counties from 7pm Thursday until 1pm Friday.

The weekend will start off quiet for most of Saturday with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 30s.
Confidence is increasing on a very strong winter storm arriving Saturday night, lasting through Sunday and wrapping up Monday morning. Models have started to converge that the southern half of the area will see the most snowfall with this which may be in excess of a foot. More details to come soon.
To follow this storm will be another round of cold weather with highs falling into the 20s and overnight lows in the single digits.
