Officials say initial attempts to make contact with the man inside the home were unsuccessful, but sometime later, deputies were able to connect with him via a phone call, where the man made statements to authorities that he was armed.
The phone call went on for about 45 minutes before the suspect exited the home, began approaching deputies, and pointed a long gun at them while not complying with orders.
Four deputies fired their weapons at the man. They then immediately began rendering first aid while EMS personnel responded and took over the life-saving efforts.
EMS took the man to a secondary location, and UW Medflight responded for additional treatment. Despite the efforts of deputies and medical personnel, the 37-year-old man was pronounced dead. His name is not being released at this time.
