(WFRV) – Following a hard-fought loss in the Big Ten semifinals, the Wisconsin Badgers are heading back to the NCAA tournament for the 29th time in program history.
During the 2025 to 2026 season, the Badgers finished the regular season with an overall record of 22-9 and a conference record of 14-6. They also finished the regular season with four top-ten wins and were the only team in the conference to defeat Michigan.

Wisconsin entered the Big Ten tournament as the 5-seed and defeated Washington 85-82 before beating Illinois in overtime 91-88 in the conference quarterfinals. The Badgers’ Big Ten run ended in a tough battle with Michigan in the conference semifinals, losing 68-65 on a last-second shot.
Led by one of the best backcourts in the country in Senior Nick Boyd (20.6 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game, 4.2 assists per game) and Junior John Blackwell (19 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game, 2.3 assist per game), the Badgers will enter the NCAA Men’s March Madness Tournament as a 5-seed in the West Region.
The Badgers, who will likely get Junior forward Nolan Winter back from injury, will take on 12-seed High Point in the round of 64. Tip-off will be on Thursday, March 19.
