WAUPUN, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Fond du Lac County say a shed is now a total loss after an electrical issue sparked a fire early Tuesday morning.
According to a release from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to N4590 Towne Road in the Township of Waupun for reports from a neighbor that a shed was fully engulfed in flames.
On arrival, officials made contact with the property owner, who safely exited their home and confirmed that everyone was accounted for away from the fire with no notable injuries.

The property owner told deputies that it was a 20-foot by 30-foot metal shed that was on fire. They added that the shed was used as a workshop and did not contain any valuable items.
The shed was determined to be about a $23,000 value and was said to be a total loss. Officials believe the fire was started by an electrical issue and is not considered suspicious.
Several fire departments were on the scene assisting, including Waupun, Oakfield, Lamartine, Alto, Brandon-Fairwater, Rosendale, Brownsville, Burnett, Kekoskee, and RIT Team 4. Lifestar Ambulance Service, the Fond du Lac County Highway Department, and the Waupun Township also assisted.
