SUAMICO, Wis. (WFRV) – Firefighters in Suamico helped to rescue a dog that had fallen through the ice near the Bay of Green Bay, safely returning it to its owner.
A Facebook post from the Suamico Fire Department detailed the incident following reports of a dog in distress on the ice at Sensiba Wildlife Refuge.
When crews arrived, they found a 3-year-old Labrador named Mitsy after she had fallen through the ice roughly 100 feet from shore, unable to get out.

The Department’s Ice Water Rescue Team was deployed and successfully rescued Mitsy from the icy water and brought her to shore.
Mitsy was then evaluated, determined to be in stable condition, and was safely returned to her owner.
