MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) — A historic season for Seymour boys basketball came up just short of a state title, falling to Racine St. Catherine’s.
The Thunder entered the tournament with just one loss, scoring at least 55 points in every game this season — until the Division 3 championship.
“We played one of our worst performances of the year,” Head coach Bobby Kuchta said.
Seymour managed only 41 points and struggled from three, finishing 4-for-20.
The Thunder now say goodbye to six seniors, including three captains — but they also bring home the program’s first piece of state hardware in 20 years.
“We had an incredible year,” senior Kyler Marks said. “I’m glad I got to do this with this group of guys.”
