FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – On Saturday in Fond du Lac, a 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his mother.
According to a release, officers with the Fond du Lac Police Department responded to a welfare check in Harrison Place around 7:50 p.m. on March 21.
When officers got to the residence, they were told that a man was inside with a knife and may have already stabbed someone. Officers then went into the apartment and found the suspect. They were able to take him into custody without further incident.

Immediate, life-saving care was then provided to the victim, a 51-year-old woman with severe injuries. The woman was subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment of critical injuries, officers say.
The release notes that the suspect is the victim’s son, and he was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
“The actions of the responding Officers, hearing those calls for help, forcing entry into a dangerous and uncertain environment, stopping the violence, and providing critical medical care reflect an unwavering commitment to protecting life and serving this community when it matters most,” stated Chief Aaron Goldstein.
The investigation remains ongoing.
