(WFRV) – As the weather heats up and everyone gets ready to head outside for their Spring sports or outdoor activities, officials with ThedaCare are providing tips on avoiding injury.
Officials warn that people should take it easy in their return to activity, as doing too much training too quickly can lead to injuries, especially coming out of a more inactive period.

“One of the key aspects that we try to emphasize is ‘gradual return to play,'” began Dr. Ryan Wagner, Sports Medicine Physician. “A lot of times with a nice day, people want to get back out there, and they go too hard, too fast.”
Dr. Wagner also emphasized that it could take up to four to six weeks to reach a level that your body may be used to.
