WAUPUN, Wis. (WFRV) – Firefighters are warning Waupun residents of a roughly 300-acre controlled burn at the Horicon Marsh Auto Tour happening Friday.
A Facebook post from the Waupun Fire Department states that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife (USFW) is conducting a controlled burn near W5445 Highway 49 on March 27. The controlled burn is starting around 11 a.m.

Prescribed burns are a proven land management tool that reduce invasive species, recycle nutrients, and promote the growth of native plants. Controlled burns can help to restore native upland and wetland habitats, improving biodiversity and supporting long-term ecological health.
