The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…
No joke here, April 1st will be cool and breezy, followed by wintry precipitation Wednesday night into Thursday! Highs before that mess gets here will be in the 30s with a chilly breeze, so you’ll want to bundle up as temperatures stay about 10 degrees below the normal 47 degree high for the start of April.
After midnight and going into Thursday, a mess of wintry weather focusing on ice will be with us, leaving many communities with a slick commute, possibly even a few power outages from gusty winds and ice accumulating on elevated surfaces like tree branches and powerlines. Accumulations of sleet and freezing rain could be on the order of a quarter to half inch for the counties north/west of Green Bay. Not as much ice accumulations for the Fox Cities and lakeshore with sleet totals around a few hundredths or a tenth of an inch.

- Overnight: A mix of sleet and rain (could be freezing rain), and a little bit of snow to the north. Elevated surfaces will get a coating of ice, possibly roads in certain areas where it is colder.
- Thursday morning: Wintry mix transitioning to rain. Wintry mix of sleet and icy rain continues over the north, warmer temperatures will eventually bring all rain to the south and lakeshore.
- Thursday afternoon/evening: Wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain continues to the far north, rain and a few strong evening thunderstorms elsewhere. The threat for severe weather is possible south of Green Bay and along the lakeshore, mainly down by Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties. We’ll keep you updated on the threats as we get closer.
