MARINETTE, Wis. (WFRV) – In my attempts to try and get the location for Ed the Diver and his wife Christie B’s Easter egg hunt, I was stopped right in my tracks.
“We can’t tell you that, Blake. You’re like the 50th person who has asked us that!”

More than 100 people are expected to travel to Marinette Saturday morning once Ed hits post on Facebook on where the giant egg will be hiding.
Even with some high stakes on the line in this fun egg hunt, there is a bigger meaning behind it.
“With all the negativity in the world, we want to do something positive for our community and spread kindness and joy,” said Christie B. “And we thought, what better way to surprise somebody with this huge Easter bunny rabbit filled with over $2,000 worth of prizes, gift cards, lures and a bunch of stuff.”
Last year, the couple did a similar Easter egg hunt, going to 10 different cities in Northeast Wisconsin, ending with hiding a golden egg in downtown Green Bay.
The change to one egg is simply due to their busy schedules.
“Very time-consuming and it was a lot of work spreading everything out every day, taking photos, listing all this stuff. It was worth it. But we just wanted to make it one big, huge egg with bunny ears on it,” said Ed the Diver. “And just close to probably a couple hundred people out there looking for it, we wanted to draw people to Marinette here.”
The reason they hide their eggs, along with some treasure chests during non-Easter times, is to help bring more awareness to their mission of keeping waterways clean.
A hunt like this helps bring more people out to help clean the waterways and have a little extra incentive.
“Encourage people to get outside. It’s healthy. They get exercise and fresh air. They’re helping the environment in the community,” said Christie B. “And they’re being rewarded at the same time. And it’s just a fun thing to do and get people out.”
More than $2,000 worth of gift cards and other goodies will fill the egg, all a part of donations received that allow the duo to continue doing their work.
“That’s what we do — cleaning the waterways and the shores. They support our mission. So they want to help us,” said Christie B. “And we just have these random ideas, and we go with them, and it turns into something big and spectacular.”
Before ending the interview, my final question was if they had a clue for hunters before Saturday.

The clue: It’s near the water.
Make sure to keep an eye on the Ed the Diver Facebook page, as a post with a picture of a general location of where the egg is hidden in Marinette will be posted at 8 a.m.
