HOBART, Wis. (WFRV) – As northeast Wisconsin continues to face flooding issues after days of downpours, the Village of Hobart says it has declared a state of emergency.
According to a release from Village President Richard Heidel, the excessive rainfall has caused heavy flooding and road damage throughout Hobart, with more storms anticipated in the coming days.
Authorities across northeast Wisconsin share one common message amid ongoing flooding
The state of emergency requires motorists to avoid all closures and areas that have become dangerous for travelers until the damage is minimal or cleared.
Officials also say nobody may attempt to access these areas, especially if it violates a clear notice or barricade, until the state of emergency is lifted and roads are cleaned.
The state of emergency will remain in effect until ‘further notice.’
