(WFRV) – The Green Bay Packers have made their first pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, and it fulfills a promise set out by general manager Brian Gutekunst earlier in the week—South Carolina cornerback, Brandon Cisse.
The 20-year-old former Gamecock recorded 27 total tackles in the secondary in his only year in Columbia, South Carolina, to go with one interception, a forced fumble and five passes defended.

Cisse transferred to South Carolina after two years with North Carolina State, and he was a four-star transfer according to 24/7Sports in the 2025 portal.
At the combine, Cisse posted the following numbers:
- 8.5-inch hands
- 30.75-inch arm length
- 75.88-inch wingspan
- 41-inch vertical
- 10-foot-11 broad jump
His pro day numbers were nothing to scoff at either, as he ran a 4.41 in the 40-yard dash at South Carolina’s official Pro Day.

Cisse could very well be a Day 1 impact player in Green Bay, especially after GM Brian Gutekunst said mid-week that he was in search of depth in the secondary.
Cisse also said that his girlfriend’s family is from around the Madison area, which brought some laughs and smiles from reporters, adding that he knew about Cheeseheads and that Lambeau Field gets loud, something he’ll be quite used to as an SEC player.
