NORTH FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Sports, of course, are about competing and being the best; however, they’re also a unifying force, and that was on full display Friday evening in North Fond du Lac.
After battling devastating floodwaters for over a week, Shiocton girls’ softball played its first game on Friday, and while the team sought a win, it was more about what happened after.

In a showing of support, the North Fond du Lac Softball team hosted Shiocton’s team and their fans at Horace Mann High School for dinner.
But that came not before the game; it came after, in an effort to provide positive vibes and love for the people of Shiocton who have endured trying times over the past 10+ days.
It goes to show that sports are more than a game; they’re a means to show love and support for a community, even across competitive lines.
