MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Wisconsin are investigating after one man was found hurt following a shooting over the weekend in Wisconsin.
According to a release from the Madison Police Department, officers responded at 3:41 a.m. on Sunday to the 200 block of Cottage Grove Road for reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, police found a 20-year-old man injured in the hallway of the apartment building where the shooting was said to have taken place. The injured man was later taken to the hospital once EMS arrived and is expected to survive.

A shell casing was found and recovered at the scene. An unoccupied neighboring apartment was said to have been damaged.
Officials say the shooter was not at the scene when they arrived but did return to speak with police. They were then arrested on drug-related charges as detectives continue to investigate the shooting incident.
The investigation is being handled by detectives with the Violent Crime Unit.
