FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – A man from southeastern Wisconsin who had a felony warrant through Kenosha County was arrested following a pursuit through Fond du Lac on Saturday morning.
Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office stated that the incident began around 9 a.m. on May 9, when a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper called in assistance with a traffic stop on I-41 north.
As a deputy and another trooper were arriving on scene, the vehicle reportedly fled from the traffic stop, losing the responding law enforcement. Shortly after, a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted the vehicle exiting I-41 at a ‘high rate of speed.’

The pursuit continued through Fond du Lac after the man got off of I-41 at South Military Road.
Eventually, the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the road into a ditch, went up an embankment, went airborne over Winnebago Street and came to a rest in a field.
The driver, later identified as a 44-year-old man from Milwaukee, got out and reportedly fled on foot. Deputies used an Electronic Control Device on him and he was taken into custody without further incident.

It was noted that the 44-year-old was out on a $5,000 signature bond through Kenosha County for operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent. He suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The driver is being held on charges of fleeing / eluding, 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, felony bail jumping, and resisting / obstructing an officer. In addition, the State Patrol will have charges of fleeing / eluding, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of marijuana.
The pursuit lasted roughly 4.5 miles. No additional information was provided.
