APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Community service officers and firefighters in Appleton are being praised after rescuing a group of ducklings from a sewer.
The Appleton Police Department and Appleton Fire Department teamed up for what they described as a smaller-scale mission that showcased big teamwork.

Officials said the ducklings had become stuck in a sewer. After coordinating efforts and working patiently, crews were able to safely bring the ducklings topside.

The ducklings were then relocated to Lutz Park, where they could return to their natural habitat.
“A great reminder that public safety is about looking out for all members of our community, no matter how small,” the Appleton Police Department said in a statement.
