Fans gathered along the streets of Mumbles, near Swansea, to pay tribute as Bonnie Tyler’s coffin was brought home ahead of her funeral.
During the procession, crowds stood along the route while the hearse traveled through the Welsh village closely associated with the singer. Her coffin was draped in the Welsh flag, reflecting the strong connection Tyler maintained with her home country throughout her life and career. Floral tributes were also placed near the route and around her former home.
Tyler died on July 8, 2026, at age 75 after being hospitalized in Portugal following emergency intestinal surgery.
Born in Wales, Tyler became an international star with her distinctive raspy voice and a catalog that included Total Eclipse of the Heart, It’s a Heartache, and Holding Out for a Hero. Her music brought her worldwide recognition while she remained closely identified with her Welsh roots.
A celebration of Tyler’s life is scheduled to take place in Swansea, followed by a private service for family members.
