GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Green Bay Police Chief Chris Davis stopped by the Local Five studio Thursday morning to recap the 2025 NFL Draft and to discuss partnering with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Chief Davis first talked about how he felt Green Bay did in handling the Draft versus how he saw Detroit handle it in 2024, when he and other local leaders were invited for a site visit.
Well I might be biased but I think they [things] went even better here. We really had a good event here. We had very few issues on the public safety side, a moderate number of medical calls on the fire [Green Bay Metro Fire Department] side but for us, we had one arrest in this entire event with the official account of 600,000 people who came through there.
All in all, the Chief said the plan that took over a year to carry out went well with minimal arrests and ejections, as well as traffic not being nearly as bad as the department had initially expected.
In another sports-related headline, the Milwaukee Brewers announced that they had partnered with law enforcement agencies throughout the state, including the Green Bay Police Department, to create and distribute a unique set of limited baseball trading cards.
This partnership with police is something Chief Davis says the Brewers have done previously with the Milwaukee Police Department and other agencies in Milwaukee County. He added that when the Brewers called and asked to partner with Green Bay Police, “of course the answer was yes!”
The unique pack of trading cards features 6 players with a comic-style/themed look. Patrol officers throughout Green Bay will be carrying packs of these cards to hand out to children to continue to build a positive relationship between police and the community.
I Know people who’ve been police officers for many, many years who their journey actually started when a police officer on the street gave them a baseball card or a basketball card.

Chief Davis wrapped up his visit to the Local Five studio by discussing the open registrations for the department’s annual ‘Teen Academy’ program.
Chief Davis says this year the program is in its 25th year and will run from June 9 to June 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every day with a provided lunch.
He adds that the program is for those in 9th through 12th grade, and those who participate get introduced to all aspects of the police department and can see things like the K9 unit, the SWAT team, and more.
For those who are interested, more information about the ‘Teen Academy’ can be found here.
