MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Wisconsin say that a man who was previously reported missing after being discharged from an emergency room has been arrested for arson.
The Madison Police Department reports that 53-year-old Vince Hildestad was initially last seen around 1 a.m. on May 22 after he was discharged from the emergency room at Meriter Hospital in Madison.

Hildestad’s arrest for arson stems from a possible connection to an apartment fire in the 1700 block of Blossom Lane in the morning of May 20. The fire was reported around 6 a.m. with heavy smoke from a window, and it was quickly knocked down.
The fire displaced multiple residents of a two-story, 14-unit complex, with damages estimated at roughly $100,000.
No additional details are available on the fire or Hildestad’s arrest.
