I think I’ve been putting this off for two years, I’ve been putting it out of my mind. I think the stubborness is what served me so well in my playing career. So today I make my official announcement to retire from the NFL.

The Green Bay Packers drafted Crosby with the 193rd overall pick in the 6th round of the 2007 NFL Draft.

Crosby went on to play in Green Bay for 16 seasons during which time he made 400 field goals and kicked his way to becoming the franchise’s all-time leading scorer.

Just so, so thankful, so grateful for the opportunity to come to Green Bay, 2007, drafted in the 6th round out of the university of Colorado. To become a Packer and to become a part of that fraternity and that legacy and history of the Green Bay Packers. It’s about the fans, it’s about the people, it’s about my teammates.

After a 17-year career, Crosby is now officially retired and likely would have been considered retired whether he made the announcement or not.

The NFL said I was retired right at the end of this season because if you don’t play for a year, you technically just ride off into the sunset.
