(WFRV) – More than 1,300 citations were handed out during the nearly two-week ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign throughout Wisconsin, officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol say.
According to a release, the special enforcement campaign from May 19 through June 1 was a way to reinforce the importance of seat belt safety.
Officials say there were 176 deaths from crashes in 2024 where the drivers or passengers were not wearing their seat belts.

During this year’s ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign, over 1,300 citations were issued, and for each citation handed out, it also provided an opportunity for troopers to educate the stopped drivers and passengers on the benefits of buckling up.
Despite the campaign officially ending, officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol say that seat belt safety will continue to be a top priority year-round.
Buckle up, stay safe, and protect yourself and others on the road!
