MONONA, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Wisconsin arrested two individuals early Wednesday morning after a high-speed chase that reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour.
According to the Monona Police Department, the incident began shortly before 12:30 a.m. when officers learned of a vehicle that had fled from the Madison Police Department at speeds exceeding 100 mph near Fair Oaks Avenue and State Highway 30.

A Monona police officer conducting traffic enforcement on the north end of Monona Drive later observed a vehicle traveling south at a high rate of speed as it approached the intersection of Ferchland Place and Monona Drive. The officer estimated the vehicle to be traveling between 80 and 100 mph in a posted 25-mph zone.
Despite not being pursued by law enforcement at the time, the reckless behavior prompted the Monona Police Department to initiate a traffic stop out of concern for public safety.
Officers radioed ahead as the suspect, traveling at over three times the speed limit, continued into Monona. A separate officer stationed farther south on Monona Drive attempted to deploy a tire deflation device, but the suspect avoided it and continued toward State Highway 12.
Police maintained their pursuit and eventually caught up with the vehicle as it exited onto Broadway and headed south toward Moorland Road. Another tire deflation device was successfully deployed, flattening the suspect’s tires. The vehicle traveled a short distance to an apartment complex on Novation Parkway in Fitchburg before coming to a stop.
Officers initiated a high-risk traffic stop. Following warnings from the department’s K9 team, the vehicle’s occupants surrendered without further incident.
The vehicle was confirmed to be the same one that fled from the Madison Police Department. Authorities later discovered that the driver and passenger had swapped seats in an attempt to confuse law enforcement.
The driver, 37-year-old Scorpio Robinson, was arrested for felony eluding and a Wisconsin Department of Corrections violation. Robinson was also identified as the driver of the pursuit by the Madison Police Department. He has not been formally charged as of this report.
The passenger, 30-year-old Lacee Webster, was initially arrested for felony eluding, though her charge was later amended to party to a crime – felony eluding.

“Mr. Robinson is a violent felon with a conviction history that includes unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon,” stated Monona Police Chief Brian Chaney. “He also has convictions for eluding, OWI, operating after revocation, and other acts. At the time of this morning’s incident, Mr. Robinson was already serving a sentence of probation stemming from recent criminal convictions in Dane County.”
