MONONA, Wis. (WFRV) – A 32-year-old Wisconsin man was taken into custody Thursday morning after leading police on a high-speed pursuit, authorities said.
The Monona Police Department reported that shortly before 2 a.m., an officer learned of a vehicle that had fled from the Fitchburg Police Department and was last seen heading east on State Highway 12.

The officer, positioned along State Highway 12 near South Towne, observed a vehicle matching the description traveling nearly 30 mph over the speed limit as it entered Monona. When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver, later identified as Donald L. Jackson Jr., 32, of Madison, refused to stop, prompting a pursuit.
Jackson continued east on State Highway 12 until a Dane County sheriff’s deputy deployed a tire deflation device, flattening the vehicle’s tires. The car came to a stop on the shoulder of Interstate 90, where officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop.
Jackson and his passenger, Kenila A. Harris, 22, of Madison, were slow to comply with officers’ commands to exit the vehicle, which had heavily tinted windows that obscured visibility inside, police said. After repeated orders, Jackson exited through the passenger-side door, while Harris exited from the driver’s side. Both were taken into custody without incident.
The Fitchburg Police Department confirmed Jackson was the driver during the chase, despite his exit from the passenger side.
Jackson was arrested on charges of felony eluding and felony bail jumping. He was already out on bond for multiple felony charges in Dane County, including second-degree sexual assault with use of force, second-degree sexual assault of an unconscious victim, strangulation, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession with intent to deliver THC, felony bail jumping and eluding.
Harris was arrested on a felony eluding charge.
During his arrest, Jackson directed profanity at the officers, their spouses and the policing profession for nearly 20 minutes, all recorded on squad video, according to the Monona Police Department.

“Mr. Jackson, my advice is that you focus all of your energy on you,” Sheriff Brian Cheney said. “Do better [and] in the meantime, enjoy the accommodations, sir.”
