DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) – Two years ago, De Pere boys basketball capped off a perfect 30-0 season, the first by any boys hoops team in the state. After falling short in sectionals a year ago, the Redbirds are using that defeat as fuel entering the postseason, which starts at the end of the week.
De Pere is led by an accolade-heavy roster. That includes recently-named FRCC coach of the year Brian Winchester leading the way for players such as conference player of the year Zach Kinziger and defensive player of the year Roan Demovsky. Those two are also part of a senior-laden starting lineup who are hoping to close out their high school careers with another gold ball.
