GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Downtown Green Bay has welcomed a new addition to its culinary scene: Bistro Buchanan, an elegant restaurant known for its upscale cuisine and unique ties to local history, which has officially opened its doors, according to a Facebook post.
Located at 130 E Walnut Street in a beautifully restored building with views of the city, Bistro Buchanan offers more than just a memorable meal, it’s also set within a landmark tied to the Green Bay Packers.

The space directly above the restaurant once served as the law office of Gerald Clifford, where the original articles of incorporation for the Packers were drafted, marking a pivotal chapter in the team’s founding.

The new menu is a collaborative creation that blends Executive Chef and co-owner Bernard Beronio’s French culinary training and Filipino fusion heritage with co-owner Steve Schneider’s love for downtown classics, like the Black and Tan Steak, and a nod to iconic dishes from Café Espresso.

Bistro Buchanan is named in honor of Dr. Richard Buchanan, the medical partner of Dr. Julius Bellin, and his charismatic wife, Jessie Buchanan. Jessie was the founder of the Green Bay Antiquarian Society, an organization that continues to thrive today.
