160+ grams of meth laced with fentanyl seized during traffic stop in Wisconsin

OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Over 160 grams of methamphetamine laced with fentanyl were seized during a recent traffic stop in southern Wisconsin, authorities said.

According to a release from the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 33 near I-43 at 12:52 a.m. on April 14 for a moving violation.

The driver and two passengers inside the stopped vehicle reportedly claimed to be on their way back from Milwaukee after a “brief” visit.

During initial contact and conversation with those inside the vehicle, officials say the deputy developed a reasonable suspicion of illegal drug activity.

A search of the vehicle found multiple individual bags of methamphetamine. A search of the driver found additional baggies of meth inside the driver’s pants.

In total, 5 baggies containing 168.2 grams of meth laced with fentanyl were seized during the traffic stop.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested on the following charges:

  • Possession with Intent to Deliver – Fentanyl >50g
  • Possession with Intent to Deliver – Meth/Amphetamine >50g

The driver was also arrested on a probation hold and is currently in custody at the Ozaukee County Jail on a cash bond of $50,000.
