24-hour ‘Give Big Green Bay’ fundraiser raises over $3.5 million

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The largest 24-hour fundraising blitz held by the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation has officially come to an end.

The ‘Give Big Breen Bay’ fundraiser that started at noon on Wednesday ended at noon on Thursday raising over $3.5 million in the process from 5,867 unique donors.

Officials with the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation say dozens of non-profit organizations that help shape the community’s quality of life are chosen each year to participate.

Our Community is a really generous place and people care about one another. One way they can show that is by giving to non-profits that are helping people in need in our community.

The Wisconsin Humane Society and the Salvation Army were among those local non-profits chosen to be involved with this year’s campaign.

Greater Green Bay Community Foundation officials say the $3.5 million surpassed last year’s total raised by more than $500,000.
