City of Green Bay to kick off Pride Month with a flag-raising and resource fair

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the City of Green Bay announced on Monday that the city will kick off Pride Month by hosting a community-wide celebration event.

According to a release, the event will take place on Sunday, June 1, at Leicht Memorial Park and will feature both a pride flag-raising ceremony and a resource fair.

Local organizations take part in ‘Taps Across America’

City officials say the event will also take place in conjunction with On Broadway, Inc., and the Levitt AMP Green Bay Music Series to help create an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere in the heart of the city.

The Pride Month Kickoff is an opportunity for our entire community to come together in support of equality and belonging. We invite everyone to join us for this meaningful celebration, connect with local organizations, and enjoy the music and festivities.

The resource fair is expected to showcase local organizations that provide services and resources to the LGBTQ community and will run from 3 to 4:00 p.m. A full, detailed schedule of the event’s activities is as follows:

  • Resource fair: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
  • Pride flag-raising ceremony: 3:30 p.m.
  • Levitt AMP Green Bay Music Series concert: 4:00 – 6:30 p.m.
