Draft stays dry this evening, widespread showers arrive overnight

The Latest Northeast Wisconsin forecast from Storm Team 5…

Happy NFL Draft Day 1! While it has been a grey and gloomy day at Lambeau to begin the three day event, at least it has stayed dry and for those attending round 1 tonight, it should stay that way, just mentioning a small chance of a sprinkle. You will need the sweatshirt as temperatures will fall from the 50s this afternoon, into the mid 40s overnight tonight.

Widespread rain is developing out in western WI and central Minnesota and that wall of rain will hold off until the overnight hours, mainly after midnight. A stiff north wind will pick up overnight between 10-20mph. Rain showers will continue through the morning, so plan to have the rain jacket handy if you plan to head over to Titletown when it opens at noon Friday.

Thankfully, the rain will taper and exit early in the afternoon, which means rounds 2 and 3 tomorrow will be dry. High will respond to the northerly flow, only reaching the upper 40s and lower 50s. We will cool into the upper 40s as the draft gets back underway.

Saturday will begin with clouds, but high pressure will clear us out during the morning, so plan on plenty of sun in the afternoon. Highs will get back to our seasonal averages in the upper 50s and low 60s. Near perfect weather for the Brad Paisley concert on Saturday following the end of rounds 4-7.

Sunday will be nice as well, just an increase in clouds during the day. Winds will be breezy at times out of the southwest, but that will warm us up into the 60s. Plan on some strong thunderstorms moving into the area on Monday, something to keep an eye on.
