Five hospitalized after rollover crash during police pursuit in Wisconsin

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – After crashing on Friday while fleeing from police, all five people inside a vehicle needed to be taken to the hospital, officials said.

According to a release from the Pleasant Prairie Police Department, officers located a vehicle while patrolling on April 11 that reportedly fled earlier in the day from the Winthrop Harbor Police Department.

The vehicle then proceeded to flee from Pleasant Prairie police officers with the pursuit ending after the suspect driver lost control, resulting in a rollover crash.

All five people inside the vehicle were taken to the hospital for medical treatment before later being released in stable condition.

The following charges were submitted following the pursuit:

  • Fleeing & Eluding an Officer
  • 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Cocaine
  • Probation/Parole Hold
  • OWI Causing Great Bodily Harm
  • 1st Degree Reckless Injury
  • Injury by Intoxicated Use of Vehicle
  • Discharging Bodily Fluid at an Officer
  • Operating a Vehicle without a Valid License Causing Great Bodily Harm

Police say several municipal citations were also made in addition to the charges listed above.
