GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 42-year-old Green Bay man has been convicted of felony murder and armed robbery as a party to a crime following a jury trial on Tuesday.
Wisconsin court records show that Gustavo Cantu, who pleaded not guilty to the 2022 killing of Randall Denny on Green Bay’s west side, was found guilty by the jury.

The charges stem from an alleged drug-related murder in April 2022. Officers with the Green Bay Police Department responded to reports of gunshots near Western Avenue and Perkins Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 34-year-old Randall Denny lying in the middle of the road. Despite attempts at life-saving measures, Denny was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities launched an investigation and identified Cantu and his brother, Alejandro, as suspects. Both brothers reportedly fled to Texas after the incident. Gustavo was eventually arrested there, while Alejandro returned to Green Bay after his brother’s arrest.
Green Bay’s license plate readers helped locate Alejandro at a local hotel, where he was arrested on Aug. 31, 2022.
